Marketing Manager

About Us:
DC Strings is a local non-profit orchestra whos brings music to the community via orchestra performances, opera concerts, and music education. Our mission is to share our love of classical and contemporary orchestra and chamber music with the community. We take pride in presenting meaningful and challenging orchestral works that rival the programming of large professional orchestras. DC Strings Workshop works to build community and expand horizons by engaging diverse audiences, supplying instruments to deserving students, and working to expose students and adults alike to the music of women and underrepresented people of color. We are expanding to Miami, FL and are excited to develop a team that will help expand our mission there.

Job Description:
We currently are seeking a Marketing Manager to oversee all our fundraising operations for our non-profit. The manager would go through an intensive 3-6 month-long probation period where they are expected to showcase their ability to teach, train, develop and manage our fundraising team. As part of the larger marketing and communications team, the marketing manager will help develop creative and engaging marketing campaigns for a range of audiences specifically our face-to-face campaign. Working directly with our creative services team and (at times) our non-profit board, the marketing manager will be charged with implementing and managing the development and production of selected marketing and communication campaigns, while also developing targeted face-to-face and business-to-business marketing campaigns across a range of platforms. DC Strings values our brand, customers, and public image, We require all Managers to go through 3 months of training and a probation period prior to fully being incorporated as marketing managers. Our Managers will be required to be cross-trained in all areas of the campaign as well as assist a minimum 2-3 of our performances. Our team has the opportunity to grow professionally and do work that supports our underserved communities here in Washington, DC. Our teams include former sales professionals, customer service experts, teachers, military veterans, avid volunteers, interns, and recent graduates. All of our hiring is in-house and we are willing to train inspiring individuals who were looking for a career to make a difference and an opportunity to grow into leadership roles.

Manager Duties
  • The marketing manager will help develop creative and engaging marketing fundraising campaigns for incoming face-to-face teams
  • Assists with planning and development of marketing campaigns, including capital campaigns and other fundraising initiatives
  • Raise funds for our non-profit
  • Develop teams of 10-25 people for our face-to-face campaigns
  • Engaging members of the public, building repore and inspiring them to take action
  • Advocating on behalf of our charity and signing up new and regular donors
  • train our Fundraisers to be advocates and educators on behalf of our charity, building a strong skill set in relationship-building and fundraising.
  • Contributes to brand message development to ensure brand
  • Helps with the targeted event and program promotion
  • Tracks performance metrics and analytics to identify trends
  • Provides competitive intelligence and assists in market research for ongoing evaluation of programs
  • Assists with other projects as assigned
  • discretion in handling sensitive and confidential consistency across all platforms
