This position will be based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and/or Washington, D.C. FIRE operates on a hybrid work schedule that allows for a mix of in-the-office and remote work for eligible employees.

Position Description
The Marketing Associate is responsible for aiding in the implementation of digital and traditional activism and marketing strategies in support of FIRE’s mission to unapologetically defend and sustain the individual rights of all Americans to free speech and free thought.
The duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Building and deploying digital and traditional advertising campaigns.
  • Monitoring social media activity and trends for marketing opportunities and leads.
  • Measuring the performance of all marketing campaigns and assessing them against organizational goals.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks such as expenses, scheduling meetings, taking notes during team meetings, and preparing reports and presentations.
  • Maintaining FIRE’s Google Ads grant requirements.
  • Assisting with the building, maintenance, and tracking of strategic marketing plans. 
  • Collaborating with outside publishers, agencies, and other consultants.
  • Evaluating emerging technologies to provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.
  • Performing other support functions for the day-to-day operation of FIRE’s Communications department.  
This position involves a limited amount of travel. Occasional work on evenings and weekends is possible.

The expected start date for this position is as soon as possible.

Qualifications
A successful candidate will have a good work ethic, be a self-starter, exercise strong judgment, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and possess the ability to work independently. Most importantly, the candidate must demonstrate a knowledge and passion for FIRE’s mission and an ability to articulate that passion in a way that will make others enthusiastic about our cause.
A candidate must also be able to demonstrate:
  1. A bachelor's degree, preferably in communications or business
  2. Exceptional written and verbal communication and general copy editing skills.
  3. Exemplary planning and organizational skills, including an ability to handle dynamic, challenging, and changing situations.
  4. A demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software applications, tools and technologies such as Pardot, Salesforce, Sprout Social, G-Suite, Facebook Business, GoogleAds, Google Data Studio, and Google Analytics. 
  5. High creativity with an interest in identifying target audiences and devising marketing campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate our audiences to take action. 
  6. Experience managing social media accounts for a business or organization.
  7. Creating and maintaining client relationships.

Salary and Compensation
Starting salary is negotiable and depends upon experience and education level. FIRE conducts periodic evaluations where employees may receive raises or bonuses for outstanding and excellent work.
